Special Interest Projects

The Alliance plans to facilitate R&D projects in a number of relevant fields.

The following project list paints a picture of where the Alliance would like to proceed in the future, with input and direction from relevant Alliance members;-

  1. The Conversion of Black Coal Fired Power Station Solid Wastes to Useful Co-products.
  2. Bauxite Residues in Geopolymer Concrete.
  3. Geopolymer Cement Clinker from Pure Alumino-silicate Precursors.
  4. The Use of Steel Reinforcing in Geopolymer Concrete.
  5. Impermeable Geopolymer Concrete. 
  6. The Use of Geopolymer Concrete in Marine Structures.
  7. Fire Resistant Geopolymer Structural and Non-structural Concretes and Laminates.
  8. Geopolymer Concrete Sewer Systems.
  9. Geopolymer Concrete in Rail and Road Transport Infrastructure.
  10. Mine Backfilling and Infrastructure.
  11. Toxic Waste Containment.

It is planned to address Projects 1 and 2 in the proposed Co-operative Research Centre for By-product Utilization if the current bid is successful in gaining Federal government funding (see www.csrp.com.au , Sept newsletter for details).
