The following sub-pages give brief descriptions of the
geopolymer concrete demonstrations that have been carried out in
Australasia. To date they consist of:-
- two cast in-situ geoplymer concrete paths at Curtin
University, Perth, Western Australia, produced by the
CSRP Geopolymer Program Group.
- a "readymix" plant set up by Zeobond (ref: www.zeobond.com ) using cast in-situ
geopolymer concrete for the plant foundations, at their
Campbellfield plant in Victoria, Australia. Concrete from the plant
has been mixed and transported in a transit mixer to produce
precast geopolymer panels and to cast in-situ a range of
slab-on-ground structures.
Several other demonstration projects are planned or under
construction at the moment and will be reported
upon after initial installation. In each case,
independent on-going measurement, testing and durability
assessment is part of the project and in due course, results
will be reported in the public domain literature. These
projects include geopolymer concrete pipeline components, railways
components, road structures, mine backfilling, toxic waste
encapsulation and mining infrastructure.
